We are currently preparing for the Fall 2010 season. Based on feedback from the 58 clubs already participating in U8 & U9, we anticipate that our Fall 2010 program will grow by more than 20%. With growth comes “growing pains” and we are working hard to implement the suggestions that our Advisory Board received from the coaches.
Although we want to retain a certain amount of ‘flexibility’, most coaches feel that more structure would be beneficial, especially as we expand. This fall, we will begin to implement some of these changes to include the following:
- All U8 & U9 teams registering will submit a list of ‘black out’ dates to eliminate any conflicts with field availability, coaching schedules and intramural play.
- All U8 & U9 boys and girls teams will have the option of playing on Saturday or Sunday, the preferred day to be requested upon team registration.
- The consensus of the coaches is that once schedules are posted, they are not subject to change. Registration for Fall 2010 is open now and end on August 1st. Click Here to register.
In addition, there will be changes to the NY Cup & NYCSL format.
NYCSL League Changes:
- NYCSL will now include Boys & Girls teams in the following age groups; U10-U13
NY Cup Changes:
- Cup play will begin in the fall with all teams playing 3 preliminary matches. Single elimination games for the NY Cup will begin in April 2011. Registration for the NY Cup will begin on or around June 23, and end August 30th. The registration for NY CUP 2010-2010 is open now. Click Here to register.
- To enable additional teams to play and insure competitive matches through the first rounds, the NY Cup be expanded to include 2 divisions- Gold and Silver. The Gold Division will include top level teams and the Silver Division will be geared toward secondary level teams.
- All NY Cup games will NOT interfere with your “League” matches.
